The Salesforce Business Application Manager will work closely with internal business stakeholders to define the scope of projects, document business processes, write technical specifications, prioritize the product backlog, and conduct user acceptance testing across our IT development, software integration, and configuration projects. This role will create custom logic and functionality using point and click administration. The right candidate will understand the limits of their capabilities and know when to bring in an outside developer when necessary.
As a liaison between business and technology, the Business Application Manager will rely on impeccable communication skills and a rigorous attention to detail to deliver solutions that exceed stakeholder expectations. In addition to creative and critical thinking, this role will require project management skills, Salesforce admin experience, as well as the ability to build Salesforce apps.
This is a part-time position of 24 hours per week, with the potential for full-time work as business needs require. This can be a remote position. Preference will be given to Bay Area candidates who can commute to the office periodically for meetings and in-person connection on projects.
This role works closely with the IT Manager and reports to the Head of Product and Technology
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Technical Project Management (40%)
App Builder (30%)
Strong understanding of the platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, process builder, lightning flow, custom views, and other content of complexity
Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on salesforce.com and all upstream and downstream applications, systems and processes
Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
Stay current on Salesforce.com products and skills as they pertain to our environment
Must have excellent problem solving, documentation and communication skills
Excellent project management skills and a positive attitude
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards
Must have 2 years of previous Salesforce.com business analyst experience developing detailed business & functional requirements, conducting User Acceptance Testing and end user training as well as 2 years of previous Salesforce.com app builder experience.
Previous experience developing requirements for Salesforce projects or implementations
Previously responsibility for point and click administration of mission critical system (ex: ERP, CRM, CMS etc.)
Previous CRM administration (Salesforce/MS Dynamics) experience
A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
Salesforce.com Admin (ADM201 and ADM211) certified preferred
Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment preferred
Previous experience working with highly customized Salesforce platforms
Basic WordPress development skills.
Additional technical competencies in software development and system implementation.
Familiarity with marketing automation systems, elearning platforms like Moodle, and productivity tools like Confluence.
Experience managing relationships with third party vendors and contractors.
A personal mindfulness practice.
